About ITVC
ITVC has quickly become an elite club in the Puget Sound region and looks forward to even greater success both on and off the court this season. It is our goal to work with the top talent in our area and provide all of our players with an affirmative and enriching volleyball experience as well as the best technical training available. This last season we had players from as far north as Mill Creek and Everett and as far south as University Place and Sumner. In addition, our 16 Under Armour team qualified to play in the Open Division at the Junior Olympics which was a first for our young club. We hope to continue this kind of success and to become increasingly competitive nationally. Our coaching staff is highly qualified and our greatest strength as a group is working with players in a positive and encouraging way while still demanding excellence from all of our athletes. We are very happy to be adding some phenomenal new coaches to our staff for the upcoming season who will be great additions to our staff. Please read our philosophy page and our coaches page for more information.
Last season we started a conditioning and wellness program exclusively for ITVC that met once a week and it was hugely successful and those who participated really enjoyed the sessions. We now consider the program to be one of our biggest assets as a club. It is run weekly by Club Director Jessica Papell and Strength and Conditioning Coach and Naturopathic Doctor Brooke Weitz. We had far fewer injuries than our opponents last season and many of our athletes found themselves with more energy and endurance to play hard throughout their tournaments. Almost every athlete who participated significantly increased their vertical jump with some seeing as much as a five inch increase! We will be continuing and improving the program this year and will be running it at EndZone Athletics in Kirkland. In addition to our focus on strength, speed, footwork, and agility we will be training our players on the “SoloSpike” so they can work on their hitting approaches and armswing mechanics and increasing their attack height. We have seen huge results in hitting improvement from training on the SoloSpike so we are thrilled to be able to offer that training to our players.
We are very excited for the upcoming season and we plan to have ITVC teams among the best in the region.
