Jenny Freed

Head Coach: 17 BLACK

Jenny will once again be leading the way for one of ITVC’s older teams as Head Coach of the 17 Black team.  She has seven years of coaching experience behind her, including a couple years with ITVC and NW Juniors, and as Head Coach for the Mt. Si High School “C” team.  While at ITVC, Jenny was part of the coaching staff that helped the 18 Asics Black team to a bid in the Girls’ Junior National Championships in 2009.  Jenny is also currently an Assistant Coach at Highline Community College, at which she helped guide the team to the 2011 NWAACC championship tournament.

“Work will win, when wishing won’t!” is part of Jenny’s coaching philosophy.  She places strong emphasis in building technical skills, as well as instilling discipline in her athletes.  Jenny brings a very high level of energy to every practice, as she coaches as she plays in that she is very competitive, intense, and passionate.

Jenny is a very active volleyball athlete as she currently competes and leads an adult women’s volleyball team, “Heat Check”.  She and her teammates finished 2nd in the 2011 PSR women’s power league and attended the USAV women’s national championships for the second year in a row. She also competes regularly in the “Open” division outdoors, both in the sand and on the grass.

Jenny played her collegiate volleyball at Bellevue College where she was twice selected to all-NWAACC teams and helped lead her team to a 5th place finish at the NWAACC championships.  At Newport High School, Jenny was a 2nd team all-Kingco selection, helping guide the Knights to their first 3A Kingco championship and a 6th place finish at the 3A WA State Championships.  She played club for NW Juniors, and was named team “MVP”, Captain, and “Most Improved”, while helping her team to a 3rd place finish at the Junior Olympic Invitational.

Jenny enjoys staying involved with athletics and athletes year round as she also is a Tier I certified volleyball official, as well as a basketball official with both SOWB and PNBOA.
