Jessica Gockel

Assistant Coach: 13 Black

Jessica joins ITVC for the 2012 club season to assist with the 13 Black team, which is led by head coach (and Jessica’s mom), Margo Gockel.  Jessica brings with her five years of coaching experience with club volleyball, CYO teams, and summer camps.  She is also Gold Medal Squared trained.

Jessica was an avid volleyball athlete growing up, playing a few years in CYO and leading her team to championships in 1997 and 1998.  She had a successful high school career at Holy Names Academy, at which she was a three-year letter-winner while helping lead the Cougars to the WA State championships in both 2000 and 2001.  She earned team “Most Improved” recognition in 2002, was selected “Team Captain” in both 2002 and 2003, and garnered 1st Team All-Metro honors in 2003.  While in high school, she also played four years of club volleyball for Sudden Impact, NW Jrs., and WVBA.

Jessica’s volleyball talents led to her fulfilling a dream of Division I volleyball, earning an opportunity to compete for the University of Portland, a member of the very competitive West Coast Conference.  From Portland she earned her B.A. in Marketing/Management.

Along with coaching, Jessica has remained very active as a volleyball athlete, competing locally in adult leagues.
