Mike Bryant
Head Coach: 18 BLACK
Mike is from Edmonds, WA and assumed the role as ITVC’s Club Director after holding the positions of head coach at The Evergreen State College, and assistant coach at Seattle University, the University of Idaho, and the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he served as Program Coordinator for the University of Washington and was part of the staff and team that won the 2005 NCAA Division I National Championship.
Mike was also recently the head volleyball coach at Eastside Catholic where his team earned the runner-up trophy at the 2011 Washington 3A state championship tournament. The EC position brought him back to the high school ranks where he also has experience leading Holy Names Academy to their first ever Metro League title and state tournament appearances. He also earned accolades as Big Bend Coach of the Year in leading his Lawton Chiles H.S. (Tallahassee, FL) team to a top-5 state ranking.
During his tenure as a coach, Mike has coached multiple high school and collegiate level all-conference, all-region, and all-American athletes. At the club level, Mike has helped lead multiple teams to the junior national championships, including most recently, a National-level bid with ITVC 18’s in 2011.
As an athlete, Mike was an all-conference basketball player at Woodway High School before transitioning to volleyball at the college level where he competed at Foothill College. At Foothill, he earned all-conference honors as a setter before returning to Seattle to complete his undergraduate career playing for the men’s club team at the University of Washington. Mike also earned MVP honors in leading his men’s USAV team to the Puget Sound Region championship.
Mike earned a B.A. in Sociology at UW, followed by a Masters in Sport Administration from Seattle Pacific University. He recently returned to UW to pursue completion of his PhD in Ed. Leadership, with an emphasis in sociological issues and student-athlete services in intercollegiate athletics.
