Milton Guerreiro

chief for the Day 046

Head Coach: 15 BLUE

Milt has been “visiting” Seattle since 1985 after leaving “sunny” Hawaii to raise his family on the “Eastside”.  His #1 fan is his wife, Leslie. They have three children and live in Bothell. Milt has been a firefighter for almost 34 years and is currently working as a Lieutenant in the Burien Fire Dept.

Milt played for the Lokahi Hawaiians, under Olympian Pedro “Pete” Velasco for many years and participated in the 1980 USVBA Nationals in Portland, Ore.

Milt began coaching at Bellevue Christian H.S. in 1996. He coached there for 9 years and then went to Mariner H.S. as the head coach for two years. For one year Milt was the Assistant Coach at Northwest University in Kirkland. His last three years has been at Eastside Catholic HS as the JV Coach.

His “club” volleyball experience consists of the following: 1998 with NW Jrs., 2003-04 Northshore YMCA, 2005-07 Rain City VBC, and 2008-2011 with ITVC.

Milt is IMPACT and CAP I certified and has recently completed the American Sports Education Program.

His coaching philosophy is to make the game of volleyball as simple as possible, through positive reinforcement, by instilling the desire to give 100% effort in everything you do in volleyball and life, and to have fun competing and learning the game of volleyball while working as a team.

“Put the white ball, over the white net, into the white court. Then not let the ball touch the floor, equals success!” ~Milton Guerreiro 2011
