ITVC teams competing in Yakima and at Seattle U. this past weekend experienced great success, as three teams walked away with tournament titles, and another claimed a Division 2 championship.

At the NW Jamboree in Yakima, the 12Black team earned the crown as the tournament’s U12 champions to win their first tournament the year!  For her great spirit and hustle, 12Black’s Stirling Yeadon was selected to the U12 All-Tournament Team!  Also in Yakima, the 14Blue team finished with an 8-1 record and earned the Division 2 championship in the U14 age division.  After fighting to a three-way tie for first place during round 1 pool play, the 14Blue squad finished as the third seed following the application of official tie-breaker procedures, sending them to Division 2 for the remainder of the event.  They bounced back very well by sweeping the rest of the competition to close out a very successful tournament.  Also competing in Yakima was the 13Black team, which also experienced great success on the court, finishing the weekend with an 8-1 record and a third-place finish in the U14 Challenge Bracket.  Sarah Baker of the 13Black team was also a very deserving selection to the All-Tournament team!

Closer to home, ITVC had three teams competing at Seattle U. with the 14Black team claiming the U14 tournament championship on Saturday, going undefeated on the day.  Sunday saw the U16 age division take to the courts, with both ITVC 15’s teams participating in the combined U15/U16 age division.  The 15Black team secured the tournament championship, going undefeated on the day without dropping a single set.  Their run to the championship included a win in the first-round of bracket play over ITVC’s 15Blue team.

It was another great weekend for ITVC!  Congrats to all of our coaches and athletes!
