The Puget Sound Region bid tournaments wrapped this past weekend as the U15-U18 age groups competed for two spots (National and American) to the Girls’ Junior National Championships to be held in Columbus, Ohio this summer. The 15 Black team finished second in the U15 age division to earn an American bid. Here is the list finishes for the four ITVC teams that recently competed:
U18 – 18Black finishes 4th

The Puget Sound Region’s final bids will be awarded this Saturday as the U15-U18 age groups will compete for National and American bids to the 2012 Girls’ Junior National Championships to be played in Columbus, Ohio later this season. ITVC will have four teams competing this weekend. The following is a list of participating ITVC teams, their tournament seed, and the location of their respective event:

Each event will showcase no more than 12 teams seeded into three pools. The top-two teams from each pool will advance to the afternoon single-elimination bracket, from which the champion and runner-up teams will each be awarded a bid. This weekend presents great opportunities for eight of ITVC’s nine teams as four teams will compete for a bid to the Girls’ Junior National Championships, while four others will compete for a region championship crown.
The Puget Sound Region implemented the bid tournament for the 2012 season, to create an event for qualified teams to compete for the local region bid allocation to the Girls’ Junior National Championship tournament to be held in Columbus, Ohio later this season. The top 12 teams in each age group (except U12, which is at eight teams) will compete for one of two bids (National & American), starting with the U12-U14 age groups this Saturday, May 5. Eight ITVC teams qualified for the opportunity to compete for a bid through the Power League tournament series. The four remaining ITVC teams will compete for a bid in the u15-U18 age divisions on Saturday, May 12.
ITVC’s 12Black team is seeded #6 overall in the U12 age division and will compete at Curtis High School. The 13Black team is seeded #9 in the U13 division and will compete at Fife High School. In the U14 division, ITVC will have two teams competing as the 14Black team enters as the #9 seed overall, while the 14Blue team is the #11 seed. The U14 division will take place at Curtis Junior High School. All sites will begin play at 9:00am. The official PSR Bid Tournament Manual has complete guidelines and information available.
The PSR Championships for the U15-U18 teams is also taking place this weekend. Four ITVC teams will compete in the two-day event. The 15Black team opens play as the #4 overall seed in the U15 division, while the 15Blue team is close behind as the #6 seed. They both will play at the Competitive Edge facility. ITVC’s 16Black team will compete in the U16 Division II tournament and enter the event seeded #3 overall. They begin play at Mount Baker Middle School. The 17Black team is seeded #3 in the U17 division and will compete at The Evergreen State College. All regional championship play will begin at 9:00am on both Saturday and Sunday. ITVC will have three teams competing in the Skagit Valley’s annual Tulip Tournament events over the next two weekends. First up is the 13Black team, competing in the U14 age division this Saturday (April 14). They begin play at 8:30am as the top seeded team in Pool H, scheduled to take place at LaVenture Middle School.
The following Saturday (April 21), the 15Blue team will compete in the U16 age division. They are listed as the top seed in Pool C and will begin play at 8:30am at Mount Baker Middle School.
ITVC’s 12Black team will compete next Sunday (April 22) in the U12 division and open up play as the events overall #1 seed. They begin play at 9:00am at Mount Baker Middle School.
