Five ITVC teams competed at Pacific Northwest Qualifier #1 this past weekend in Spokane, Washington. Both the 14Black and 14Blue teams advanced to Group #1 of the 14 Club division for day two of competition, concluding the weekend in the Silver Bracket and finishing 14th and 17th respectively in the final overall standings. In the 13 Club division, the 13Black team advanced to the Bronze Bracket and finished the weekend in 18th place overall. The 12Black team finished with a 6-3 overall record and in 18th place of the 12 Club division, while the 16Black team finished in 29th place of the 16 Club division.
PNQ Weekend #2 is this coming weekend with the four remaining ITVC teams competing for a qualification bid to the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships. The 18Black team opens up play in the 18 Open division on Friday as the 20th overall seed. The 17Black team begins play Friday afternoon as the #3 seed overall in the 17 Club division. The 15Black team will be participating in the 15 Open division and begins the weekend seeded #12 overall seed, while 15Blue opens the tournament as the #5 overall seed in the 15 Club division.

The PSR Power League #3 event took place this past weekend as all nine ITVC teams played either Saturday or Sunday. Both 15’s teams competed in Flight #1 and both finished among the top six to earn the opportunity to compete in Flight #1 in the final Power League event in April. The 16Black team competed in Flight #3, finishing 4th and also earning the opportunity to compete in the same flight next month. The 12Black team competed on Saturday as well, ending the event in 5th place, keeping them in Flight #2 for Power League #4.
Sunday saw the biggest improvements for ITVC teams, led by the 14Black team winning Flight #2 and the chance to move up to Flight #1. Also moving up to Flight #1 is the 17Black team which finished 2nd overall in Flight #2, sweeping their pool and winning a great semi-final match before enduring a hard fought loss in the finals. Th 14Blue team will also be moving up as they finished 2nd in Flight #3, going 3-2 on the day. Other results for Sunday include the 18Black team finishing 6th in Flight #1 and the 13Black team finishing 8th in Flight #5.
It was a very good weekend for ITVC! The fourth and final PSR Power League event will be held in next month as the U14 and U18 age groups will play on April 7th, with the U12, U15 and U16 divisions competing on April 14th.

The March 2012 calendar is now posted online. This includes all practice and Sunday Skills sessions, as well as competitive events for the month. Most ITVC teams will remain on the same training schedule, however there have been some minor adjustments throughout the month. Coaches have been notified if their team’s schedule has been impacted.
Many ITVC teams will be competing in three events this month, with all teams participating in the third installment of the PSR Power League during the first weekend, and then traveling to Spokane, WA for the Pacific NW Qualifier later in March. Other events include the NW Jamboree (Yakima, WA), the Seattle University tournaments, and a PSR adult women’s event in which the 18Black team will compete.

Lindsey Milner, of ITVC’s 18 Black team, recently gave her verbal commitment to play volleyball at Central Washington University beginning the fall of 2012! Lindsey is currently a senior at Meadowdale High School, where she helped the Mavericks earn both Wesco 3A and Northwest District 3A titles, en route to the 7th place trophy at the 2011 3A Washington State championships. Lindsey also earned many individual accolades, including 2011 2nd team All-Area and 1st team All-Wesco South. Congratulations, Lindsey! We are very proud of you!

All nine ITVC teams saw action this past President’s Day weekend, with the two oldest teams competing in Nevada at the annual Las Vegas Classic, while the remaining teams stayed closer to home for the NW Juniors President’s Day Tournament.
The big winners on the weekend were the 16 Black team as they captured the tournament championship among 27 teams competing in the 16 Club division. They won two consecutive days of pool play before sweeping through the Gold Bracket on their way to the title!
Also performing well at the NW Juniors’ event were both the 15 Black and 15 Blue teams, with both teams advancing to the Gold Bracket culminating with 3rd and 5th place finishes respectively in the U15 age group. The 12 Black team also advanced to the Gold Bracket, placing 8th overall in the U12 age division. The 14 Black team finished strong as they captured the Silver Bracket championship (9th overall) in the 14 Open age division. Other reported results include: 14 Blue = 21st in 14 Open; 13 Black = 27th in 14 Open.
In Las Vegas, the 17 black team won two days of pool play on Saturday and Sunday, before dropping their first match of the weekend in crossover action, advancing them to the Silver Bracket of the 17 Club division. Their final finish was 11th overall, after opening the event seeded 38th among 140 total teams. The 18 Black team entered the tournament seeded #65 in 18 Open, and finished the tournament in 93rd place with a 3-6 record.
Next up is PSR Power League #3 for all teams during the weekend of March 3-4. GO ITVC!
All ITVC teams return to the courts and will be competing this coming weekend as part of two separate three-day tournaments. ITVC’s 17Black and 18Black teams will make the annual February trip to Las Vegas to participate in the Las Vegas Classic. The 17Black team opens up play as the #38 seed overall in the 17 Club division and as the #2 seed in Pool #33. Plays begins for them at 8:00am Saturday at Cashman Fieldhouse. There are a total of 140 team scheduled to compete in the 17 Club division. The 18Black team will begin play at 2:00pm on Saturday at the Las Vegas Convention Center. They are seeded #65 overall (#3 seed of Pool #7), among 114 total teams assigned to the 18 Open division.
All other ITVC teams will take part in the local NW Juniors President’s Day Tournament. All age groups (except U12) will compete Saturday-Monday. The following is the list of teams, along with the pool, start time, and gym assignment for Saturday:

ITVC experienced one of its best weekends of this young 2012 club season as Power League #2 was held both Saturday and Sunday. Leading the way this past weekend was the 15 Black team, winning Flight #1 of the u15 age division to secure the top seed going into Power League #3 to be held in March. After taking second in their pool, the 15 Black team avenged an earlier season loss to Capital Ice by winning their semi-final match, earning a re-match with KJ 15 Baden, the team that beat them earlier in the day. 15 Black took the title with a 2-1 set victory (17-25, 25-20, 15-12).
Also doing very well were the 16 Black and 17 Black teams, as each placed 2nd in their respective Flights, earning the opportunity to move up a Flight for Power League #3. The 17 Black team advances to Flight #2 in the U18 division, while the 16 Black team advances to Flight #3 in the U16 age group.
Both the 18 Black and 15 Blue teams finished 5th in Flight #1 of their respective age groups, securing their position to compete in Flight #1 again during Power League #3. The 18 Black team entered the weekend seeded 8th in Flight #1 and with their recent finish they improve their seed to #5 moving forward.
In the U14 division, both of ITVC’s 14’s teams competed in Flight #2 of the U14 age group. The 14 Black team just missed an opportunity to advance to Flight #1, losing a very tough three-set semi-final match with a score of 14-16 in the third set. They bounced back to win the 3rd place match to secure the #3 seed going into Power League #3. The 14 Blue team struggled to find their rhythm on Saturday, dropping four matches before winning the final contest of the day to earn 7th place. 14 Blue will move down to Flight #3 for Power League #3. The 13 Black team competed in Flight #4 of the U14 age group, finishing 8th on the day which moves them down to Flight #5 for next month’s event.
The 12 Black team finished 7th in the U12 Flight #1 event after going 1-4 on the day. They will compete in Flight #2 in Power League #3.
It was a great weekend overall for ITVC! Next up are the President’s Day weekend events. Both the 18 Black and 17 Black teams will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada for the annual Las Vegas Classic. All other ITVC teams will remain local, competing in the NW Juniors President’s Day tournament.

Power League #2 arrives this weekend with U14 and u18 age divisions competing on Saturday 2/5/12, while the U12, U15, and U16 age groups will play on Sunday (2/5/12).
Saturday (2/4/12)
In the U14 division, both the 14 Black and 14 Blue teams will compete in Flight #2 at Five 12 Courts (Puyallup, WA) with play starting at 9:00am. The 13 Black team will compete in Flight #4 at Black Hills High School (Tumwater, WA) with competition beginning at 8:00am.
ITVC’s 12 Black team will play in Flight #1 of the U12 division at Curtis High School (University Place, WA). Play begins at 8:00am.
In the U18 division, the 18 Black team will take on teams in Flight #1 at Fife High School (Fife, WA), while the 17 Black team will compete in Flight #3 at Impact Sports Academy (University Place, WA). Both facilities will begin play at 8:00am.

Power League #1 is in the books for six ITVC teams as the 12 Black, 13 Black, 14 Black, 14 Blue, 17 Black, and 18 Black squads competed in various facilities throughout the Puget Sound Region.

Finished 0-4 for the day, losing three tough matches in pool play, all against U14 teams. 13 Black will move down to Flight #4 for Power League #2.
14 Black
Finished 2-3, losing some very close matches early on in pool play, but closed out the day with two consecutive wins to finish 5th in Flight #2. 14 Black will remain in the Flight #2 for Power League #2.
14 Blue
Finished 5-0 on the day, winning Flight #3! 14 Blue moves up to Flight #2 for Power League #2.
17 Black
Finished 4-1 for the day, winning their pool and taking 2nd overall in Flight #4! 17 Black moves up to Flight #3 for Power League #2.
18 Black
Finished 2-3 on the day, 2nd in their pool and 4th overall, losing two tough three-set matches. 18 Black moves up to Flight #1 for Power League #2.
