Thank you all for your interest in ITVC!  We look forward to seeing your daughter at tryouts.  I have been receiving a lot of emails with good questions and there are two that keep repeating.  The first concerns costs.  We will be handing out the finalized costs for Fees and Travel by team at tryouts only.  The second question has been whether your daughter can come late or leave early from tryouts.  The answer is YES!  We understand that there are other tryouts happening around the region.  We ask that your daughter notify the coach during tryout to explain her circumstance.  If you have any other specific questions about tryouts or team formation, please email me directly, kate@goitvc.com.  Thanks and GOOD LUCK!  Kate

GO ITVC!

player_Haatja 2011 mug 3x4Leigh-Ann Haataja, a 2011 ITVC alum, is making a big impact at Portland State University in this her freshman campaign for the Vikings.  The Vikings are currently 3-2 early in the 2011 collegiate season as Haataja, a 6′1 middle blocker, is a regular contributor having started in all eight matches in which she has seen action. She currently leads the Vikings in blocks per set at 1.16. Additionally, she is averaging 2.32 points per set, which also includes a 1.68 kills per set average on .284 hitting efficiency, second on the Vikings’ roster.  Recently, in a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over visiting Seattle University, Haataja recorded 10 blocks in the match, the highest told by a Viking freshman since 2006.  Congratulations to Leigh-Ann!  The ITVC community is very proud of you and wishes you continued success as the 2011 season continues!

Huge congratulations to 18 ASICS Black players Leigh-Ann Haataja and Gabby Bird-Vogel for being named to the PrepVolleyball.com All-America list!  They are two of only three players from the Puget Sound area named to the list and are joined by their former teammate Rachel Roeder who competed for ITVC 17 ASICS last season.  This is a huge honor and we are extremely proud of them.

We already like to think of ITVC as a big volleyball family but this season we have even more reason to feel that way. We have 4 sets of sisters playing for ITVC teams this year. Our 13 Asics team is at the center of it all with each family having a younger sister on this very successful team. It looks like growing up watching your sisters’ tournaments and peppering in the back yard really pays off!
